Graduate School of Economics

The Graduate School of Economics consists of Economics division and Business Administration division and prepare four Courses in order to nurture advanced professionals with practical knowledge and sophisticated research skills related to economics, business, management and accounting.
From 2010, as a new curriculum “Practitioner/Specific Assignment Model” was introduced for educating business persons and local citizens. The main characteristic of this Model is that Master thesis is not required to complete this program. In this “Practitioner/Specific Assignment Model,” students working for companies or public organizations can focus on research assignment through practical activities such as report writing and field works in accordance with his or her own career background and interest.
After entering Graduate school, students can select either the conventional “Academic Model” in which Master thesis is required or “Practitioner/Specific Assignment Model” based on his or her own aptitude and interest.
In addition, in response to growing demand for recurrent education in local communities, our Graduate School provides lectures in Koriyama Branch Office, prepares Daytime/Nighttime Class Hour and Long-Term Curriculum Enrollment System, and offers lectures and seminars by eminent practitioners playing leading roles at the forefront of economic and business fields.

Graduate School of Symbiotic Systems Science and Technology

The Graduate School of Symbiotic Systems Science and Technology was established in April 2008. The aim of this school is to foster professional researchers who can devote themselves exclusively to finding practical approaches to solving the problems of the 21st century. The graduate school has five fields: research fields concerning human interface science, industrial system, environmental system management, mathematical information science, and materials science. Furthermore, from April 2010, a new doctoral program focusing on three areas: symbiotic interface systems, symbiotic industrial systems, and symbiotic environmental systems, will be made available. This program will implement a research-based mode of educational study, in which students will run research projects that incorporate practicing professionals and link related fields and areas together. We intend to equip graduates with highly specialized and practical skills for solving new, complicated problems through our innovative approaches to education.
