Succeeding the history and traditions of the former bodies, Fukushima Higher Commercial School (under the prewar education system) and Faculty of Economics, educational contents have been revised in order to educate specialized professionals who are competent in the society. Under new educational system, taking the subjects, such as Statistical Information Processing, Bookkeeping, and basics of Economic Terms is compulsory in order to obtain basic knowledge of Economics and Business Administration (Economic Literacy). Also greater emphasis is placed on research and practice, and substantial foreign language education, and we offer detailed course guidance.

At the fall semester in the second year after completing basic study in Economics and Business Administration, the students are assigned to one of the tree divisions: 1) Economic Analysis, to acquire the theory of economic analysis and methods of analysis, 2) International and Regional Economy, consisting of Regional Economic Policy Course, to study the various issues in the regional economy and community, and International and Comparative Economy Course, to study the common characteristic and diversity of the contemporary world, 3) Business Administration, consisting of Business Management Course, to acquire practical knowledge required for business administration strategy, and Business Accounting Course, to master mainly the field of Accounting.
